I released v1.0 of my silly little menubar inbox app! 🚀 Inbox & Chill is now, as they say, "feature complete". What started as a fun little Build Week project to try & tame my notifications overwhelm has become a delightful notifications triage with lots of power while still being pretty chill. I've added - connect to-do apps like @Todoist, Trello and Reminders 📋 - connect local coding agents, including Claude Code, Codex, Gemini 🤖 - pin important notifications to the top - complete to-dos or archive emails & notifs right from the app, for most sources ☑️ - group notifications by topic (both automatically, such as by GitHub repo or @Linear project, or manually - which is great if you are getting notifications everywhere about the same thing!) 🗂️ - write your notification activity to a Markdown file, if you want to track this stuff in an @Obsidian vault or something 📝 And I have some more ideas I'm eager to add over the next while (like incoming comments from social channels via the @Buffer API 💁🏻‍♂️ ) It's also now a paid app ($15) with a two-week trial. It’s a little ridiculous that I now get “funkytown”, of all songs, stuck in my head regularly because some drug company decided to use a generic cover of it in a GLP-1 ad that now need to watch every 5-8 minutes while watching old episodes of Bob’s Burgers

What's the software you're most loyal to and why? @Nikki Elbaz asked me that recently. It's one of those standard questions almost every product person is asked in an interview (for a job or otherwise). I've asked this question of PM candidates myslef a lot, and a lot of the answers I've gotten over the years are pretty unsurprising. Here's mine: Apple's Logic Pro 🎶 It is the single most valuable software purchase I've ever made in my life: I bought it in August 2013 for $200, have never paid a cent more, and I continue to get more value from it every year I use it as my primary tool for making music. I think it's such a good case for one-off software pricing. Sure, Apple sells a TON of other products and services which likely allow them to subsidize this. And of course, they now offer a subscription-based version of Logic. But they did right by their longstanding pro music creators by not forcing us all into that model. (Of course I hope this doesn't change 😅 ) But they're not the only ones who can "afford" to do this. It's worth remembering that quite a few beloved apps are *not* subscription based - my favorite other example is Things 3, which apparently continues to do quite well despite a lack of subscription pricing and no price increases since its launch in 2017. And sure, there is some friction that comes with an up-front software purchase. What I love about Logic and Things is that each has a lower-cost entry point: Logic's "sister", Garageband, is free for any iOS or Mac user; Things' iOS app is just $10, and while its Mac app is $50 it includes a free trial to make sure it's right for you. So I guess I'll ask: What software are you most loyal to and why?

So many missed opportunities for quirky branded terms in the AI space. Here are just two I thought of in the last 24 hours: @Hex - why not call your chatbot flow a "hexploration"??? @Claude - why not call scheduled tasks or routines "claudomations"?????

Something I learned last night in my rabbit hole is that the vast majority of music "distribution services" are really just wrappers for a smaller set of services that actually maintain connections with the streaming apps (examples include revelator, sonosuite, labelcamp) and are *mostly* built for record labels but also allow seemingly anyone to "spin up a distribution business" which I think is a little insane
